Confirmation for Adults

These are some of the questions that we will address in our upcoming 7-week Adult Confirmation class. Join Rev. Edlen Cowley and Rev. Sean McDonald on Sundays at 12:30pm as we tackle some of the most important (and difficult) parts of theology. Light lunch will be provided & childcare is available upon request.
Means of Grace: Exploring Prayer
Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00pm | March 5-April 16
A Seven-Week Journey Through Lenten Prayer Practices - Begin your Lenten season with an exploration of traditional and contemporary prayer practices. This experiential series starts with an introductory inquirer's session on Ash Wednesday, followed by six weeks of guided practice in three foundational forms of prayer: Lectio Divina, The Examen, and Intercessory Prayer. Each two-week focus allows participants to deepen their understanding and experience of these spiritual disciplines. Sessions emphasize hands-on practice over formal instruction, creating space for both personal growth and community connection. Whether you attend all sessions or drop in for specific practices, you'll discover new ways to approach and hear from God. Join us as we journey together through these time-tested means of grace. No prior experience necessary. All are welcome to attend any or all sessions. Led by Joy Vroonland.
Schedule: Week 1 (Ash Wednesday): Inquirer's Session (offered after evening service), Weeks 2-3: Lectio Divina, Weeks 4-5: The Examen, Weeks 6-7: Intercessory Prayer.

Loving, Just & Free
Tuesdays, 10:00-11:30am | March 11-April 15
You're invited to join a Six-Week Lenten Bible Study by Rev. Erin Sloan Jackson on her book, "Loving, Just & Free," focusing on unpacking the vision statement of the Horizon Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church: "We are followers of Jesus seeking the loving, just and free world God imagines for all people."
Each weekly study will include elements of creating art for deeper discussion and personal connection. (Don't worry, this is the kind of art that's perfect for non-artistic people! All are welcome!) Throughout the study, participants will be encouraged to reflect on experiences, share insights, and discern practical ways to live out the values of love, justice and freedom in their communities.
