The Munger Church Council held its 3rd-quarter meeting on Sunday, August 30. In our meeting, we conducted a review of the 25-26 strategic efforts as well as strategies for the church moving forward into May of 2027. The highlights of the 25-26 strategic efforts include much improved financial standing from 25-26 and for the first half of 2027 (as seen in our Second Quarter Financial Report), a clean financial audit (our first audit as a newly formed church), and good leadership participation across the laity of our church, including formal and informal roles.

As we look forward, our focus will be on living into our mission of “Welcoming people into a relationship with Christ, connecting them to the church community and equipping them to serve.” To do this, we will be centered on bringing people together through small groups, through a training program that will roll out on September 13 (which is intended to help us grow in faith and align with the church mission) and through events that both engage our membership and reach out into our community.

Finally, in an effort to be good stewards of our property, the council, in collaboration with the property committee, is examining ways to make the best use of the old parsonage across the parking lot from the sanctuary. The property needs significant physical attention, and we are exploring ways to improve it to serve as a central gathering space for a variety of community-facing and inward-facing activities. We are currently scheduled to bring this plan to the congregation on November 8. Look for more information about this effort in the coming month or so.
